amira SIEGEL. ma, med, lmft (she/they)
Amira grew up in San Diego, California, before making Tacoma her home in 1996, while attending the University of Puget Sound. She earned her bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and African American Studies before going on to complete a Master of Education at Seattle University and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pacific Lutheran University.
Today, Amira is a licensed marriage and family therapist and Washington State Approved Clinical Supervisor, mentoring graduate students and early-career therapists in providing queer-affirming, systems-oriented psychotherapy. While she enjoys teaching and supervising, her greatest passion is the work she does with clients.
Amira believes that therapy is more than solving problems—it's about creating a space where you can better understand yourself, break free from patterns that no longer serve you, and build relationships that feel secure, authentic, and deeply aligned with your values. She works collaboratively with adults, couples, and families navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, life transitions, identity exploration, grief, and the complexities of being human.
Her practice is intentionally LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcoming to people in consensually non-monogamous relationships, polyamorous partnerships, and kink communities. Amira understands that healthy relationships are not defined by a single model, but by authenticity, trust, communication, and mutual consent. She offers a nonjudgmental space where clients can explore the unique strengths and challenges of their relationships without having to educate their therapist or defend the ways they choose to love and connect.
Known for her warmth, curiosity, humor, and genuine presence, Amira creates a therapeutic relationship that is both compassionate and engaging. Drawing on her background as an educator, she balances deep insight with practical tools, helping clients not only understand why they feel stuck but also make meaningful, lasting changes. Whether working with individuals or couples, her goal is to help clients feel more connected to themselves, more secure in their relationships, and empowered to build lives that reflect who they truly are.
Amira offers in-person and telehealth sessions for individuals and couples ages 18 and older, who are located in Washington State and Nevada. Her rate is $200/session with an available sliding scale.
Amira is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Washington state (NPI: 1609311224, License Number: LF60854132) & in Nevada (License Number: 5327-R).
